Tonight has been a great night, I have found this amazingly good looking stop motion movie called O Apostolo. First Spanish movie with a budget of 9.6 million (woohaaa big budget!). Let me just say money well spend, trust me im posting the trailer so you guys can see it. Im more than happy to know that stop motion its gaining ground!
Shoreline Entertainment has put up completion coin for Spain’s first 3D stop- motion pic, “O Apostolo.”
Shoreline has invested a reported $1.4 million in post-production on the pic, which has a budget of $9.6 million. Company is handling international sales.
Pic’s lead producer is Galicia-based Artefacto Prods. Rosalia Mera’s Rosp Coruna co-produces alongside Polygon Entertainment, which is handling post-production.
“When we first were brought the project for help to obtain the bridging loan for post production, we immediately thought it would be a perfect fit for Shoreline,” Shoreline topper Morris Ruskin told Daily Variety. “The 3D visual aspect of this film will delight audiences everywhere.”
“Apostolo” was screened as a work in progress to its finance partners and sponsors in July. Fernando Cortizo’s feature debut, “Apostolo” is an Agatha Christie-type suspenser set in a Galician village that lives under a 100-year-old curse.”I was immediately struck by the meticulous attention to detail and the fresh story. This is clearly a work of passion by many fantastic artists and an amazing achievement for an independent animated film,” added Ruskin.
“Apostolo” has tied down musician-composer Philip Glass for the soundtrack, puppet director John George Craney (“The Lord of the Rings”), VFX supervisor Collin Miller (“Coraline”) and stereoscopic supervisor Tim Taylor (“Con Air”).
Check out this cool animation by Tomas Mankovsky. Please check out their website and they have an awsome making off. Tomas really nice work and to all of your crew congratulations on a really nice production.

Picking fishes for the underwater scene. (Oh those Ikea bags do come handy)
This is amazing and I am so glad I got to see this. Andy Kennedy did an amazing job doing this stop motion, from the actual animation, this is a really solid piece, and definitely one of my favorites. Check out the making off its really insightful to see how this piece was build in a very detailed way.
The Child of the Wind is a poetic and nostalgic story that can be enjoyed by children and adults. Nicolas Lara a Chilean director, leads this stop motion short with its 3 main characters, Luis, Grandma and Sofia. Sofia lets us in her imagination and through her we can see a world of beauty, we explore her loneliness and her life away from the city.
Please check out this making off, really amazing work! Congratulations to all the crew that worked on this short and hope to see the next one really soon!
